Sidewalk Dog’s Passholder Appreciation Event at Lake Monster Brewing

On a lovely day in October I had the pleasure of photographing Sidewalk Dog’s Passholder Appreciation event at Lake Monster Brewing. It’s one of my favorite things to do, so many doggies!!

If you’re not familiar with SWD’s Dog-friendly Indoor Brewery Pass get yourself one here ASAP! The pass is good for one free beer at 17 different Twin Cities taprooms, and yes, you can bring your dog!! This is a great winter activity for both you and your dog!

Here are some of my favorite images from the day but you can also see more (and purchase your faves) at the full gallery here. And if you missed it, here is the original Sidewalk Dog write up about the event.

Yappy Hour with Sidewalk Dog

2018-06-22_00012018-06-22_00032018-06-22_00042018-06-22_00052018-06-22_00072018-06-22_00082018-06-22_00102018-06-22_00112018-06-22_0009It was such a fun time photographing all the pups that came out for Sidewalk Dog’s Yappy Hour at 3 Squares restaurant in Maple Grove this past Thursday. The pups seemed to have fun too, they got free treat samples for Solid Gold and their humans had yummy drink options from Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The Rescue Crew was also there with a raffle of cool swag to benefit the great work they do.

More images from this event can be seen (and purchased) here.

Check the events page at Sidewalk Dog for the next Yappy Hour near you!

May Flower Challenge

I’m so happy I decided to challenge myself to 31 days of flower photos for the month of May. Every day I posted a photo on my personal Facebook page and my Instagram account of a lovely floral image, most of which were taken in my yard (thanks to my green thumbed hubby!) or the nearby Lake Harriet Peace Garden. The feedback I got was outstanding and really revived me, I’ve been in a bit of a photographic slump lately.05-21-1705-22-17-105-23-1705-24-17-105-25-17-105-26-17-105-27-17-28-Edit05-28-17-505-29-17-16-Edit05-30-17-5-Edit05-31-17-1

Every image was taken with my Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens, which I am now completely in love with. I was a bit sad when the challenge came to an end, I had developed a daily habit of photographing, editing, and posting that I enjoyed and so I began to think about new projects for the month of June. Unfortunately, promptly on June 1st I came down with a nasty summer cold and barely got out of bed for 2 days. Such is life, perhaps a July challenge, I have a few ideas in mind;-)

I’ve added some of my favorites to my esty shop, so if you need some art for your walls be sure to check it out. Thanks!

May Flowers Photo Challenge

I love spring! I love how quickly it all changes, one day it’s a frozen and gray landscape, the next the plants are sprouting up and flowers are blooming everywhere. I decided to challenge myself this year to a 31 day photo challenge during the month of May and capture the beauty of spring. I’ve been posting a photo a day to my personal Facebook page and my Instagram account. Here are the first 10 days.

Pancake Lifestyle Photo Session with Dogs, Rescue Dogs Eat Pancakes, MN Photography

Did someone say pancakes?!!

2016-08-25_0001

The dogs at the Stephenson household know that when the griddle fires up and the sweet smell of maple syrup fills the house, they are in for a breakfast treat! Heather and Charlie have made a tradition of spoiling their dogs with pancakes on lazy Saturday mornings.

2016-08-25_0003
“It actually started with my Grandma Thompson and Mike the dog,” said Charlie. For every fourth or fifth pancake she made, Mike would go sit next to the stove knowing that the next one off the griddle belonged in his belly. Grandma Thompson said that Mike the dog knew which pancakes were his because he could count !

The tradition lives on with their 4 dogs, 2 rescued pit bulls, Emmett and Ivy, one foster pit bull rescued from the 367 fight bust named Evan (aka Toofers), and one cranky German, Penelope the dachshund.
